Encoders for UltraMax

I began working on the quadrature encoders for UltraMax. I am trying to make it about 120 to 160 counts/rev. So far, the 160 count seems ok, not sure how it will look on the scope, and if the sensors will pick it up. Here it is so far

Ever try to you a non optical mouse as an encoder? Currently looking into this for my project.
